Forests Forever

This model was developed by
the Southwest Forest Alliance, a regional environmental organization, to provide
a less aggressive alternative for restoring ponderosa pine. This model uses existing
tree groups as a guide for providing a range of forest structures in small plots
across the landscape. This model is highly dependent on being able to identify
the various group structures and tree patterns desired for retention. Thinning
treatments are followed with prescribed fire.
